WIRE ROPE LUBRICANTS & CHAIN SLINGS

Wire Rope Lubricants-
Wire rope lubricants basically used in the manufacturing process of a wire-rope to increase the ropes usage life and overall performance.
There are two types of wire ropes lubricants available in the market
Wax-based
Bitumen based

These lubricants used in a wide range of industries such as-Mining, engineering, fishing, elevator etc. Proper lubrication of wire ropes can extend its operational life .most of the wire ropes are lubricated during the manufacturing process. Those lubricants which contain no acids or alkali's, is highly preferred wire ropes lubricants.
Characteristics of wire rope lubricants
  • Good lubricant and antitrust properties
  • Rust prevention over a wide temperature range
  • Suitable for commercial fishing rope

Wire rope lubricants have two principals function
  • To reduce friction
  • To provide corrosion protection and lubrication in the core and inside wires.

Chain Slings-
Chain slings are typically suited to more demanding lifting operations. They are usually constructed from Grade 80 or 100. Chain slings are one of the most durable and robust types of slings.
Selection of correct slings is not easy; you need to know some of the following criteria before buying it. Chain slings are available in various ranges of material and size in the market and there are different types of slings also such as- Endless, single, two, three or four leg slings. You should focus on capacity also; the slings should be strong and long enough for the load.

Alloy Chain slings-
Alloysteel chain slings are made from various grades of alloy. Alloy steel chain slings are often used in the industrial/construction industry because of its strength, durability, abrasion resistance properties and these slings are able to lift hot materials also. Slings loads are based on their material strength, design factor, and angle of loading. Inspection of Alloy chain slings is really important as worn or damaged alloy steel chain slings must not be used until repaired.
